Sprains

(Also known as: a joint injury)

Sprains

What to do: If you have a sprain, follow the R.I.C.E. method: rest, ice, compression, and elevation. First, rest the affected area to prevent further injury and allow healing. Apply ice to the injured area for about 15-20 minutes every few hours to reduce swelling. Use a compression bandage to provide support and minimize swelling, and elevate the injured limb to help reduce inflammation. If the pain persists or if there's severe swelling, consult with a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation and appropriate treatment.
